The High Flyer - First sculpted in 1997, the re-introduction of this one of a kind work by Ed Walby represents the unique nature and qualities of the U-2 pilot and SR-71 aircrew member. Unlike any other aircrew flight ensemble, the depiction of the aircrew "stepping to his jet" in the full pressure suit carrying his LOX cooler, spurs clanking on the tarmac, is accurate in detail and scale. This piece truly portrays the pride and distinctive history of high altitude manned reconnaissance flight.

Each piece is meticulously molded in nearly indestructible polymer epoxy resin and hand painted with a blackened bronze impregnated enamel coating and then over coated with an automotive quality clear satin finish to guaranteed lifetime protection. (Actual statue is darker than website image.)
